Asian Art
The Met's Asian art collection—more than 35,000 objects, ranging in date from the third millennium BCE to the 21st century—is one of the largest and most comprehensive in the world. Each of the many civilizations of Asia is represented by outstanding works, providing an unrivaled experience of the artistic traditions of nearly half the globe.
Kinrande
Kinrande is inspired by a Ming dynasty–era bowl in The Met collection. We've adapted the original vessel's decorations into a gold-and-bronze motif embroidered onto a marine-blue linen/cotton ground for pillows, throws, and duvets.
Sashiko
Inspired by a Meiji-period kimono, our Sashiko duvet set distills the motifs on the textile into a 100% cotton jacquard fabric.
Inro
Inspired by an Edo-period basket, this embroidery features amber and taupe threads on a black linen cotton ground.
Kosode
Inspired by an asymmetrical Edo-period kimono, Kosode features a looped motif on a patterned jacquard.
Lover's Kimono
Inspired by a layered linen kimono from The Met, Lover’s Kimono combines a soft linen body with a silk charmeuse flange. Beautiful drape on this washable collection.
Artemis
Inspired by a Tang-dynasty dish, this embroidery employs floral motifs in a arcing repeat.
Dragon
A lush velvet robe in The Met collection, exemplifying the decorative transition between the Ming and Qing dynasties, informs our Dragon motif.
Asagao
Inspired by a silk gauze summer kimono from the Meiji period, this design is printed on silk charmeuse.
